Hello Panther Nation,
I hope this note finds you all well. Unfortunately based on the states restrictions and the guidance from the MIAA, Football and Competitive Cheer will not be possible this fall. The Eastern MA board of Directors and Presidents voted recently to cancel the season. This is extremely disappointing for players, coaches, families and board members.
We are currently in the process of evaluating what (if anything) that we can still do from a football / cheer perspective for the fall 2020 season. We will reach back out with any activities that we can do as soon as possible so you have time to plan.
We take the health and safety of our players, coaches and parents extremely serious and felt that there was no way to properly pull off a tackle and competitive cheer season under the updated guidelines.
Rest assure that we are still working on trying to have a sideline cheer and 7v7 season this fall. Some towns will choose not to participate due to board of health regulations as well as other reasons, and that is their choice.
The board will meet Monday the 24th to discuss and outline what that season would look like.
Thank you all for your patience in this trying time. This was not an easy decision and not one that I truly wanted to make.
Thank you again and be on the lookout for updates on sideline cheer, and 7v7 come after Monday’s meeting.
I am sure everyone is well aware of the current state restrictions, but if you have any questions I will take them directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. All cheer questions should be sent to email@example.com.
