Dear Panther Nation,

We hope you had a wonderful time at our home opener last weekend. Our athletes, coaches, and volunteers worked hard to make the day a success for all of Panther Nation. I wanted to take this time to send a reminder to all our family, friends, athletes, volunteers, and coaches of our responsibility to display proper sportsmanship throughout all our events.

It has been brought to the attention of the league that throughout Eastern Mass there has been an influx of disrespectful behavior towards fans, athletes, coaches, and referees stemming from adult patrons. It has also been relayed that our hard-working volunteers throughout the conference have also endured various forms of disrespect as well. These acts of unsportsmanlike conduct will under no circumstances be tolerated by Eastern Mass and will certainly not be tolerated by the Franklin Panthers Youth Football and Cheer organization. Please remind all your guests throughout the season that yelling at any official whether it be a referee, a coach, a volunteer, or one of our student athletes will result in removal from the facility as well as suspension from attending the next scheduled game. If the behavior continues there will be a full season suspension given to that person.

Throughout Eastern Mass our priority is the safety of our athletes, volunteers, coaches, and referees therefore the recent behavior throughout the league will now have consequences.  Franklin Panthers Youth Football and Cheer have always prided themselves on the respect that our fans, athletes, and volunteers display both on and off the field and we will continue to do so. I would like to share that since the start of our season our student athletes have shown wonderful sportsmanship on and off the field towards referees, opposing town athletes, and each other alike. I am proud to have these athletes represent our program and to continue to do great things. We as adults, fans, support systems to our athletes need to continue to set the precedence and continue to display proper behavior at all of our events.

On behalf of the entire Franklin Panthers Youth Football and Cheer Board I thank you for your anticipated efforts to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for our athletes and our volunteers alike. GO PANTHERS!

Amy Murphy

President
